I have implemented the following coatings on each of my vehicles.
- Fit: Overcoat kit + Topcoat kit (4 layers) ← Normal grade
- Civic: Diamond 200 (5 layers) ← Diamond grade
The major difference between the normal and diamond grades of Silazane 50 is the film density. (There is also the number of films, but we exclude this since the base is also coated in layers.)
This coating has twice the price. Normally, I would choose the cheaper one, but..,
Conclusion: After implementing and comparing the two, the effectiveness of the Diamond 200 was outrageous.

This is Silazane 50 top grade Diamond 200↓.
Actually, Civic had EX Keeper applied, but we stripped it off and applied Diamond 200 because it was as effective as the base Silazane 50 (1 layer).
It is rare to find a coating that can produce a water repellent angle on the level of Diamond 200. This is a big difference from the base grade Silazane 50 (4 layers).

The difference between the base grade Silazane 50 and Diamond 200 was more than I expected.
Water repellency and gloss, these two things made more difference than we had imagined.
However, it is not that the base grade Silazane 50 is not good enough. It is that Diamond 200 is outrageous.

Difference in water repellent effect
The first difference is in the water repellency angle. This difference is visible to the naked eye.
To be honest, I had no idea that there would be such a difference in water repellency angle.
Silazane 50 (4 layers) is also quite excellent. This ↓ is a picture taken after about 4 months.
On the other hand, here ↓ is Silazane 50 Diamond 200.
I am sure you can appreciate how intense the effect of this one piece is.
First of all, there are not many coatings that produce such beautiful water repellent corners.
Moreover, these photos were taken not immediately after the construction, but about 5 months later.
Here↑ is a picture of the car wash after almost a year. It is amazing to see the water flowing away from the car almost without being caught. It is even more amazing because this is before shampooing.

Difference in gloss
Gloss depends more on the number of films than on film density.
However, even taking into account the difference in the number of films, Diamond 200 is apparently more slippery.
The roof and windshield of the Civic look awfully slippery.
The fit is also quite shiny and slick, but not as much as the Civic.
The difference is that Diamond 200 is an even denser version of Silazane 50, which is made from polysilazane.

There is a large difference in film density in product specifications.
This section explains the differences in product specifications. The film density of Silazane 50 differs between the diamond grade and the base grade.
The higher the density, the less space there is for water molecules to get trapped, making water repellency very strong.
However, even the base grade is very different from commercial coatings (including store applied) and provides reliable results. (I rate it on par with EX Keeper.)

Conclusion: No matter how many layers of base grade are added, there is a difference between the diamond grade and the diamond grade.
There was a time when I also thought that if I was going to buy diamond grade, I might as well buy 7 layers of Silazane 50.
However, after trying out the installation and feeling that it made such a difference, I am very glad that I chose Diamond 200.
I honestly did not expect such a difference.
The effectiveness of the Diamond 200 is endorsed, and I would highly recommend it without a discovery.

Silazane 50 (multi-layer) can easily apply strong coatings
Our Fit was intended for easy use, and since it was a used car and the lowest grade (basic 1.3L), we didn’t think it would cost too much.
Still, we wanted a strong coating, so we decided on a combination of base grade Silazane 50.
In particular, 2~3 layers of glass and finishing with a topcoat kit will improve durability.
For example, it is recommended to apply one layer of Silazane 50 and then top coat with Silazane 50 at regular maintenance intervals such as six months. This is the most cost-effective maintenance method.
Normally, this would cost several hundred thousand yen, but the fact that it can be done for less than 30,000 yen is unbelievable.

Diamond 200 is a Dantotsu effect.
Frankly, there is almost no coating more effective than this.
Personally, however, we feel that it is highly recommended for

It is rare to find a coating that sees this level of water repellency.
Obviously, a multi-layered Silazane 50 is not competitive. (Silazane 50 (1 layer) is the same level as EX Keeper)

I stripped the EX keeper and have zero regrets.
I stripped EX Keeper and went with Diamond 200, and everything from the effectiveness, durability, and shine was better with Diamond 200.
I have no regrets at all.

Not that the normal Shirazan 50 (4 layers) is not good.
This is the discussion so far, but it sounds like Silazane 50 is subtle and Silazane 50 Diamond 200 is great.
It is not.
I rate Silazane 50 on the first layer as being as effective as EX Keeper ($130,000).
(My Civic originally had EX Keeper applied but decided to switch because of the effectiveness of Silazane 50.)
Therefore, Silazane 50 is quite effective.
In addition, the Fit is coated with a total of 4 layers of Silazane 50 Overcoat Kit (2 layers) + Silazane 50 Topcoat Kit (2 layers), making it a very strong coating. (It is beyond EX Keeper).
Still, the diamond grade is of a different dimension, as Silazane 50 (4 layers) << Diamond 200.

The reason for 4 layers is to improve water repellency.
Water repellency is enhanced if the surface is smooth.
The body has many uneven surfaces that cannot be seen by the naked eye. By applying multiple coats, the uneven surfaces are accustomed to the new coating and water repellency is steadily improved.
For example, there is a definite difference between Diamond Plus (3 layers) and Diamond 200 (5 layers), which have the same film density in the higher grades.

I have installed all of our cars with the Silazane 50 series, but if you want to combine them, I recommend the following.
- Silazane 50 + Silazane 50 + Topcoat model (4 layers)
- Overlayer kit + topcoat model (4 layers)
- Overcoating kit + Diamond Plus (5 layers)
- Silazane 50 + Diamond 200 (6 layers)
